St. Patty's Day

Jessie, E, and I spent the day down on the Riverwalk. We then had dinner at JC's restaurant where JC waited on us as Obi-Wan Kenobi. We drank green potion drinks. Jessie and E were tuckered out, and went back to their hotel, but I had told everyone that I would be out and about, so I headed to [Snoopy Dog's]...the place where we go for karaoke every Friday night. These pictures make me a little ill...there's just TOO much GREEN going on...

Jessie and E at the Time Machine with their Green Potion drinks...

Look at the freakin' color of that beer. It looks toxic...

Andrea and me. Um, yea, I think our eyes look a little red...

Me, JC, JC's boss, and boss's wife...pay close attention...JC wore this hat that Andrea, me, and everyone else thought was the dumbest, most toolbag thing in the world, however...now that we've seen these pictures...it's actually pretty freakin' hilarious...watch the little drunk-o-meter...it really does move throughout the night. So, the funniest, dorkiest thing is that JC actually moved the drunk-o-meter around the more he drank. You'll have to forgive him. He's as Irish as any Irish-American comes, and takes drinking on St. Patrick's Day very seriously...

I need to start tanning before summer gets here...

Whoa! Mr. Incredible looks not so good there in the background...

Last picture of the night. JC and Matty attacking Andrea. Drunk-o-meter is at highest level...

I love this pic. It's so sweet and cute...

DIY Faux Brick Wall with German Schmear

Written February 14, 2021, when I tried to start a  WordPress blog , but failed because I'm old and it's too complicated. My estranged (?), separated (?), I don't know what, husband, and I actually worked on this together.  I watched 1,000 YouTube videos and read another 1,000 posts on how to do this.  In the end, I took a little from here and a little from there. The faux brick paneling was bought from Home Depot.   We cut the seams with a Ryobi jigsaw , used liquid nails and a Ryobi nail gun to attach the panels, and used joint compound mixed with a bit of water for the schmear.  It's a perfectly, imperfect technique.  I practiced a little, but decided to just jump in and let the wall take on a life of it's own.  I will warn that the joint compound dries much whiter than you think it will.  Use sparingly if you want to see more brick. Once the wall was finished, I painted the other walls Sherwin Williams Perfect Greige .  Shelves and floor...

Happy Freakin' New Year

Written January 1, 2021, when I tried to start a Wordpress blog , but failed because I'm old and it's too complicated. 2020 and I had a love/hate relationship. I hated seeing what was happening to others and the world. I dealt with my fair share of struggles, but mostly, I think I was the closest to contentment that I've ever been. 1. I LOVED working from home MOMO working from home 2. I felt closer to my family 3. I didn't mind the slower pace and less to do 4. I was able to have a better work/life balance 5. I felt more productive at home and at work 6. I did a couple of home projects - helped my parents landscape my front yard, gave my bedroom a makeover with my sister, and reorganized my pantry with her Before After Pantry Makeover Bedroom Makeover 7. I spent the best summer with my son and dogs at my sister'shouse - laughing, crying, painting rocks, getting to know my fur nieces and nephews (Wall-E, Maggie, Leeloo, and funny, little, Peyton who we lost in...

Fablicious

It's Monday morning, and I took today off from work. Right before the true tax season we get really low on work. So, they pretty much give us off any day we want. I'm taking off today and Friday. This past weekend was really great. And this is going to sound strange, but I feel really good about the fact that I'm saying I had a great weekend and Gabby was home with me. I feel like so often all of my "great" weekends are weekends that don't involve her, and that's just a shame. On Friday night my aunt and uncle were in town, so the whole fam went downtown and ate at Mi Tiera's. We got a little lost on the way home. Saw a crack deal goin' down. Good times. Saturday, took Gabby to eat at Red Robin. And then went to CD Exchange and the pet store with Andrea and Josh. I've been seriously thinking about getting Gabby and me two kittens for the last year. I think I've thought about it long enough that I might actually make it happen. O...
