Busy,

Work has been crazy busy so far this week. Last weekend was pretty busy, too. Gabby spent the weekend at her dad's. They always have a big "to do" about Easter, so it was probably a lot more fun for her over there.

Thursday night I had dinner with this guy I've been dating. Not just some guy. The guy I've been dating. For the purposes of this blog he will be known as P-Dub because I can't say his name. Then we spent the rest of the evening here at my apartment.

Woke up Friday and hung around here. Then I met up with Andrea and had delicious Steam Pots at Joe's Crab Shack. Came back here when she had to go back to work. P-Dub and I did some driving around and browsed through Best Buy and Rooms-2-Go. Then headed out to dinner with his mom, stepdad, sister, his sister's girlfriend, his uncle, and his uncle's girlfriend. We had Vietnamese. I got freaked out. P-Dub was smart and got Pho...which looked delicious. I tried in in VA and really liked it, except the meat freaked me out. But then again, most Asian meats freaked me out. But the meat in his Pho looked pretty decent. My Lemongrass chicken on the other hand...tasted delicious, but freaked me out. We went back to his mom's house and just sat around laughing.

Saturday we woke up and lounged around again. He won't home to clean out the garage, and I went to dinner with my family for Easter. Outback...yummy!

Andrea is the faculty advisor for a theatre group at UTSA, The Bargain Basement Players. They were putting on a show Saturday night, so P-Dub and I met up with Andrea for that. Had a glass of wine at this really cute place, Pam's restaurant, and then watched the play. It was really good for local, college theatre. I know Andrea was super proud of them.

I was supposed to meet up with some friends from high school later that Saturday night, but the play took longer than expected, and I didn't really drive downtown, so Andrea, P-Dub and I met up with Andy at Coco Beach and had a very chill night sitting outside, talking, having some drinks. And then we called it a night.

I was very lazy on Sunday, and kind of needed that. I slept for a very long time. Picked up Gabby kind of early, and that was that.

Now, I need another vacation!!! I feel like packing my bags and scooting off for the weekend every weekend ever since Gabby, Andrea, and I drove to the coast. There are tons of little weekend places around San Antonio, but money's a problem...time's a problem. And, well, P-Dub's such a planner and organizer it's hard to be spontaneous.

I'm going to get another Mystic tan tomorrow...wish me luck.

Am I Going To Die? I just got stung for the first time ever by a wasp . . . So far so good . . . I can still breathe, I haven't swelled up like a balloon, yet . . . But it hurts and itches like crazy!!! It's almost the end of the semester and I am completely swamped! Two projects, two papers, and three finals, all in the next 3 weeks . . . Somehow I'll handle it. I've actually all of sudden "woken up" where school is concerned. I've been in such a daze for like the last 7 or 8 months. The AOC has changed my life as I knew it . . . in good and bad ways!!! Bad because he takes up too much of my thoughts . . . and I need all the brain capacity that I can get!!! Somehow, after years of barely even talking to anyone at work, and only a couple of years of actually being a little more friendly with my co-workers, I seem to have been sucked up in "office politics" and I HATE it! I used to really like going to work . . . now I just want to quit!! It still...

DIY Faux Brick Wall with German Schmear

Written February 14, 2021, when I tried to start a  WordPress blog , but failed because I'm old and it's too complicated. My estranged (?), separated (?), I don't know what, husband, and I actually worked on this together.  I watched 1,000 YouTube videos and read another 1,000 posts on how to do this.  In the end, I took a little from here and a little from there. The faux brick paneling was bought from Home Depot.   We cut the seams with a Ryobi jigsaw , used liquid nails and a Ryobi nail gun to attach the panels, and used joint compound mixed with a bit of water for the schmear.  It's a perfectly, imperfect technique.  I practiced a little, but decided to just jump in and let the wall take on a life of it's own.  I will warn that the joint compound dries much whiter than you think it will.  Use sparingly if you want to see more brick. Once the wall was finished, I painted the other walls Sherwin Williams Perfect Greige .  Shelves and floor...
Has anyone ever told you you look like . . . ? If I have to hear someone tell me one more time that I look like Ann Margaret...I will SCREAM...or worse yet, Fergie!!! The only thing I have in common with these two women is the color of my hair!!! What was the other one I've heard?...Julianne Moore (or however it's spelled). I realize there aren't that many redheads in the world...and I realize that some people have this overwhelming need to compare the way people look to someone famous...but PLEASE!!!???...don't just go by the color of someone's hair
